What is the Play to Learn Program?

All young children need positive early learning experiences to foster their intellectual, social, and emotional development and lay the foundation for later school success.

Our expertly designed activities are fun, creative, and provide an opportunity for learning and stimulation through our play-based curriculum.

The Play to Learn Program is offered through different monthly themes to make learning fun and relevant for the child.

Here are the different components of the Play to Learn Program:

Music Circle Time

Children naturally love music! Whether it’s soft and soothing or a lively tune, children feel it both physically and emotionally. Enhance your child’s development and love of music through song, finger-plays, & instrument play in our Musical Circle time that kicks off each week in our Wondertree Kids’ program. .Join this engaging virtual class for singing & learning fun for toddlers & preschoolers!

Sensory Play

Sensory play supports language development, cognitive growth, fine and gross motor skills, problem-solving skills, and social interaction. At Wondertree Kids, we take a lot of time, love, and care to plan a sensory bin each week for your children to enjoy! When we design our bins, we try to match it with our engaging themes, stories, materials, and activities your kids will love.

Family Jam Session

Throughout the early years, children are learning to do new things with their bodies and are learning that movement can communicate messages and represent actions. Join Wondertree Kids for a live jam session each week!  We will play some fun songs to get us all moving and dancing and spend some quality time together with our families!

Craft & Process Art

Art opportunities introduce our youngest artists to an exciting variety of sensory experiences while learning about color, texture, shapes, & forms.  Our Messy Art curriculum – which offers both process art and craft-art opportunities – is inspired and guided by research in child development so that the activities for the children entertain and enrich their brains, bodies, and hearts.

Story Time & Sing-Along

Reading to young children during the early years is important because the roots of language are developing in a baby’s brain even before he or she can talk! The more words your child hears over time, the more words he or she learns. At Wondertree Kids, we read stories each week and create a ritual to emotionally enrich the experience for you and your family.  Additionally, each book is hand-picked to match the theme and curriculum goals.

Explore exciting hands-on science, math, and engineering activities with your little learners. Young children will observe the world around them as they make predictions, problem solve and experiment.

Movement activities encourage large and fine motor skills as children move their bodies, build spatial awareness, and gain confidence. Each activity is created to target specific large and fine motor skills that young children need for academic and self-care success.

Outdoor Activity

Get your child outside and moving with these fun Outdoor Activities. These games help children develop their fine and large motor skills through play. If the weather does not permit outdoor play, these activities can easily be adapted for indoor play.

Wonder of Words

Early Literacy Video accompanied by the Picture Cards for each month. This module can be used in teaching sign language, building vocabulary, and learning about the theme.
